Facebook blocks pictures of Little Mermaid statue because of nudity
A naked picture of the Little Mermaid was banned on Facebook.
You may be thinking that’s a good idea.
But it was actually an image of the famous statue in Copenhagen and not the Disney character.
Danish MP Mette Gjerskov was shocked when the social network didn’t allow her blog link that contained the image because it contained ‘too much bare skin or sexual undertones’, according to metro.co.uk.
The Social Democrat told her followers it was ‘totally ridiculous’, according to website Ekstra Bladet.
Facebook soon came to its senses though and allowed the image of the iconic bronze statue.
Following a number of incidents involving nude artistic images, the social network clarified in March these type of pictures were allowed.
