Gagik Surenyan: More snow, storms on the way
Another cyclone is approaching Armenia, Panorama.am learned from Gagik Surenyan, the deputy head of the weather service of Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations.
According to him, on January 6-7 Armenia will be affected by a warm sector of the cyclone from the west. Light snow is forecast in Shirak, Aragatsotn, Kotayk, Vayot Dzor provinces, Ararat Valley, and Yerevan. Snow storms are possible in mountainous areas and passes.
Surenyan said that from January 8 Armenia will be in the midst of the cyclone. As a result, precipitation will intensify.
A warm air mass is currently continuing to move into Armenia, and temperatures are still rising. On January 7, temperatures will range from -3 to - 5 degrees overnight and from - 1 to +1 in daytime, while on January 8, temperatures will be -1 to -3 overnight, and 0 +2 degrees in daytime.
A sharp rise in temperatures is expected in Tavush province and Ararat Valley where sleet and rain are likely on January 8.
