Several motorways closed in Armenia
Most roads in Armenia were passable as of 8:00 am today, on January 9, according to the press service of Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations.
Several motorways such as Madina-Lernahovit, Lernahovot-Geghhovit, Berd-Chambarak and Vardeniats mountain pass are closed, while Sotk-Karvachar, Alagyaz-Tsakhkahovit, and Verit Gghashen-Madina motorways are barely passable.
Goris-Sisian and Sisian-“Zanger” motorways are covered with black ice.
It snowed in the city of Talin of Aragatsotn province, and it was foggy in cities of Ani and Artik in Shirak province.
Drivers are urged to use the abovementioned roads only in case of emergency.
Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed to all types of vehicles, Emergency Situations Department of Georgia’s Interior Ministry said.
