Artist performs naked protest in Cologne over sex attacks
A Swiss artist performed naked in front of iconic Cologne cathedral on Friday, nearby the city's main station where a series of sexual assaults against women occurred on New Year's eve, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Milo Moire stood naked on the cathedral square, holding up a sign reading "Respect us! We are not fair game even when naked".
Police were present but did not interfere with the performance.
Police also stopped several young men in the area around the main station and cathedral, and asked them to move away from the area.
There was widespread shock over the scale and nature of sexual attacks in the city of Cologne on New Year's Eve.
Police said witnesses have described the perpetrators as being of "Arab or North African origin," but there's little solid information so far on who committed the assaults.
That has been seized on by some opponents of Germany's welcoming stance toward those fleeing conflict after the country registered nearly 1.1 million asylum-seekers last year.
