662 people hospitalized in Armenia for acute respiratory infection
The rapid response group set up by Armenian Health Ministry held a regular meeting today to discuss the epidemiological situation in the country. 662 people were hospitalized for acute respiratory infection as of January 9, including 219 patients diagnosed with pneumonia, according to the ministry’s press service.
85 pregnant women, including 20 with pneumonia, have been hospitalized as of January 9.
83 patients are being treated in ICUs of Armenian medical institutions, including 7 patients (one pregnant woman) who are on a ventilator.
The number of patients in grave condition has not changed, which bears evidence of increased awareness of the population and the fact that patients seek medical care urgently.
The number of calls to the ambulance service has declined in Yerevan on January 8 as compared with the holiday period. 180 out of the 937 calls were related to acute respiratory infections.
