Armenian Defense Ministry has released a statement expressing its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of soldier Aramayis Voskanyan killed by an Azerbaijan bullet and sharing the grief of the loss. The Ministry strongly condemned Azerbaijan’s latest provocative actions which it said will not remain without consequences.

The press service of Nagorno Karabakh Rrepublic’s Defense Ministry reported earlier that around 9:30 pm on January 9, soldier of the NKR Defense Army Aramayis Voskanyan, 19, died from a gunshot wound as a result of Azerbaijani gunfire. The incident happened on a frontline position in a military unit of Defense Army of Nagorno Karabakh Republic in the eastern direction of the line of contact with Azerbaijani forces. President of the NKR  Bako Sahakyan signed a decree on awarding posthumously Private of NKR Defense Army's N division Aramayis Voskanyan with the "For Service in Battle" Medal for bravery shown during the defense of the NKR state border.

“The Armenian armed forces will not leave anything without a response. The Azerbaijani side will again bear all responsibility for escalating the armed confrontation and the further actions,”   the spokesman for Armenian Defense Ministry Artsrun Hovhannisyan wrote on his Facebook page.
