Georgia wants to change gas transit agreement with Armenia
Georgia wants to change the agreement it previously signed with Gazprom Company: as a transit fee for gas supplied to Armenia through its territory, Georgia wants money payments instead of getting 10% of gas, Georgian Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze said commenting on the talks with Gazprom, according to Vz.ru.
“The talks are very important to Georgia,” Kaladze said.
He described as marasmus the opposition’s allegations that Georgia makes concessions to Gazprom at talks regularly held in third countries.
The minister said that the gas transit agreement between Georgia and Gazprom is updated every year and that this time Tbilisi wants money instead of 10% of gas supplies. He added that no final agreement has been reached so far, promising to inform the public as soon as Georgia and Gazprom sign a new agreement.
