Achievements and shortcomings discussed at MTAES consultation
There have been both achievements and shortcomings in the work of Armenia’s Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations (MTAES) in 2015, Minister Armen Yeritsyan said at the first consultation held by the ministry in 2016.
“Work will be done soon to rectify those shortcomings. We should also continue carrying out the projects launched last year and promote cooperation with international organizations,” A. Yeritsyan was quoted as saying by the press service of MTAES.
Chief of Rescue Service Sergey Azaryan gave a report about the accidents in the holiday period, the measures taken, and the current activities.
It was announced that from December 31 to January 10 the Rescue Service responded to 676 cases. According to S. Azaryan, technical equipment of all the firefighting-rescue units is in good working order and ready for rapid response operations.
