Karabakh Defense Army soldier Aramayis Voskanyan posthumously awarded For Service in Battle Medal
President of the Nagornmo Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan signed a decree on awarding posthumously private of NKR Defense Army's N division Aramayis Voskanyan with the "For Service in Battle" Medal for bravery shown during the defense of the NKR state border, the presidential press service said.
The press service of NKR’s Defense Ministry said earlier that around 9:30 pm on January 9, soldier of the NKR Defense Army Aramayis Voskanyan, 19, died from a gunshot wound as a result of Azerbaijani gunfire. The incident happened on a frontline position in a military unit of Defense Army of Nagorno Karabakh Republic in the eastern direction of the line of contact with Azerbaijani forces.
“The Armenian armed forces will not leave anything without a response. The Azerbaijani side will again bear responsibility for escalating the armed confrontation and the further actions,” the spokesman for Armenian Defense Ministry Artsrun Hovhannisyan wrote on his Facebook page.
