Epidemiological situation with flu and acute respiratory infections in Karabakh is quiet: Health Ministry
On the instructions of the health minister of Nagorno Karabakh, daily monitoring and integrated actions are underway at all the levels of medical care as well as pre-school and comprehensive educational institutions in order to prevent the spread of acute respiratory infections in the Nagorno Karabakh Republic (NKR).
The epidemiological situation in NKR is not tense, according to the press service of NKR’s Health Ministry.
332 people, including 275 under the age of 18, applied to polyclinics and outpatient’s clinics as of January 11, 2016. 54 people, including 32 patients under the age of 18, were hospitalized. 21 hospitalized patients were diagnosed with pneumonia. There were 3 confirmed swine flu cases.
Monitoring conducted by NKR Health Ministry in November and December 2015 showed a decline in the number of flu and acute respiratory infection cases. The ambulance service of Stepanakert, the capital of NKR, did not report a rise in ambulance calls.
