Iravunk: Vahan Shirkhanyan questioned as witness and accused person
‘Iravunk’ paper says that ex-deputy defense minister of Armenia Vahan Shirkhanyan was questioned during the investigation into the armed gang case. He was questioned as a witness and then as an accused person. Shirkhanyan’s lawyer, Stepan Voskanyan, said that the ex-deputy minister did not plead guilty to the charge. “There are no facts confirming that Sharkanyan was involved in any way in the criminal group’s activities or took any actions,” he said.
The lawyer also appealed Shirkhanyan’s measure of restraint, asking to take into account his age, health, and the groundlessness of the charge, but the appeal was rejected.
