Armenian roads mostly passable
All roads in Armenia were mostly passable as of 12:00 pm today, on January 13, according to the press service of Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations (MTAES).
Areni-Khachik motorway (8th-9th km) is closed in one direction in connection with blowing up of the dangerous part of a mountain and a possible rockslide. A rural bypass road – Noravank-Amaru-Khachik is being used.
Sotk-Karvachar motorway is barely passable.
The ministry urges drivers to use these roads only in case of emergency.
Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open to all types of vehicles with antiskid chains (except trucks with trailers), Emergency Situations Department of Georgia’s Interior Ministry said.
