Ashotyan: Winter holidays again extended by week in Armenian schools, decision doesn’t apply to universities
Due to the situation with flu and acute respiratory infections in Armenia, the winter holidays in schools have been extended by another week – until January 25, Armenian Science and Education Minister Armen Ashotyan wrote on his Facebook page.
As was reported, at the request of the Armenian health minister, the winter holidays were earlier extended from January 11 to until January 18.
“Taking into consideration the proposal of the Health Minister and the instruction of Prime Minister, I announce that the holidays in comprehensive, elementary and secondary state educational institutions of Armenia have been extended. Classes will resume on January 25,” Ashotyan wrote.
“I propose that non-state educational institutions and those under the jurisdiction of local self-government bodies use the same schedule. The decision does not apply to higher educational institutions. Additional classes will be held until the end of the academic year as compensation for those lessons,” Ashotyan wrote.
