Transport ministry warns Armenian drivers of snowstorm on several motorways
There was a snowstorm as of 11:00 am today, on January 14, on Maralik-Lanjik, Artik-Alagyaz, Aparan-Kuchak, and Aparan-Spitak motorways and Vardeniats mountain pass, the press service of Armenia’s Ministry of Transport and Communication reported.
Vardeniats mountain pass (from the direction of Martuni) is covered with black ice.
Round-the-clock snow and ice removal operations and work to extend roadways are underway to ensure safe driving conditions.
The ministry urges drivers to use only winter tires.
