Health minister proposes extending school holidays in Armenia by a week
At the session of the Armenian government today, Health Minister Armen Muradyan proposed extending the school holidays by another week in connection with the current situation with flu and acute respiratory infections in Armenia.
The correspondent of Panorama.am reports that the minister said most of the people infected with flu and acute respiratory infections are those under the age of 18.
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan instructed Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan to deal with the issue.
The winter holidays has already been extended from January 11 to January 18 at the health minister’s request. According to the latest data, the swine flu death toll in Armenia has reached 11.
