Swine flu death toll reaches 13 in Armenia
Another two deaths due to the H1N1 (swine flu) virus were reported in Armenia, according to the press service of Armenian Health Ministry.
“We regret to say that despite the consistent struggle of experts of ICUs, another two deaths occurred due to the H1N1 virus. The patients were admitted to medical centers in extremely grave condition. They had chronic diseases such as diabetes and cardiac and pulmonary insufficiency and were kept on a ventilator,” the ministry said in a statement.
The swine flu death toll has reached 13 in Armenia.
992 patients were hospitalized with acute respiratory infections as of January 15, including 873 patients under the age of 18. 502 people were hospitalized with pneumonia, including 231 under the age of 18. Besides, 121 pregnant women were hospitalized. 98 are kept in intensive care units, including 8 patients on a ventilator.
