Motorways mostly passable in Armenia
All motorways in Armenia were mostly passable as of 10:00 am today, on January 15, according to the press service of Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations.
Vardeniats mountain pass is closed. Some motorways such as Sotk-Karvachar, Aparan-Tsilakar, Yeghipatrush-Kuchak and Lanjar-Lusashogh are barely passable. It is snowing in cities of Goris and Sisian of Syunik province.
Arneni-Kahchik motorway (8th-9th km) is closed in one direction due to the blowing up of a mountain’s dangerous part and a possible rockslide. Noravank-Amaru-Khachik bypass rural road is being used.
The ministry urges drivers to use the abovementioned roads only in case of emergency.
Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open to all types of vehicles equipped with anti-skid chains (except trucks with trailers), Emergency Situations Department of Georgia’s Interior Ministry said.
