Motorways in Armenia mainly passable
All motorways in Armenia were mainly passable as of 10:00 am January 16, according to Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations.
Areni-Khachik motorway (8th-9th km) in Vayots Dzor province is closed in one direction due to the blowing up of a mountain’s dangerous part and a possible rockslide. Noravank-Amaru-Khachik bypass rural road is used.
Sotk-Karvachar and Eghipatrush-Kuchak motorways are barely passable.
The ministry urges drivers to use the abovementioned roads only in case of emergency.
Stepantsminda-Lars motorway is open to all types of vehicles with anti-skid chains (except truck with trailers), according to Emergency Situations Department of Georgia’s Interior Ministry.
