Several roads in Armenia are closed and barely passable
Motorways in Armenia were mainly passable in Armenia as of 9:00 am today, on January 18, according to the press service of Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations.
Berd-Chambarak road is closed. Sotk-Karvachar and Madina-Verin Getashen motorways are barely passable. Roads in the city of Chambarak are partly covered with ice.
Areni-Khachik motorways (8th-9th km) in Vayots Dzor province is closed in one direction due to the blowing up of a mountain’s dangerous part and a possible rockslide. Noravank-Amaru-Khachik bypass rural road is used.
The ministry urges drivers to use the abovementioned roads only in case of emergency.
Stepantsminda-Lars motorway is open to all types of vehicles with anti-skid chains (except trucks with trailers), according to Emergency Situations Department of Georgia’s Interior Ministry.
