Several roads in Armenia closed or barely passable
Most roads were passable in Armenia as of 9:00 am today, on January 19, according to Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations.
Vardeniats mountain pass and Berd-Chambarak motorway are closed.
Sotk-Karvachar, Madina-Verin-Getashen, Mastara-Garnahovit, Melikghyugh-Alagyaz, Aparan-Tsilkar. Alagyaz-Artik motorways and roads in Amasia and Maralik regions are barely passable.
Areni-Khachik motorway (8th-9th km) is closed in one direction due to blowing up of a mountain’s dangerous part and a possible rockslide. Noravank-Amaru-Khachik bypass rural road is used.
The ministry urges drivers to use the abovementioned roads only in case of emergency.

Stepantsminda-Lars motorway is open to all types of vehicles with antiskid chains (except truck with trailers), Emergency Situations Department of Georgia’s Interior Ministry reported.
