Iranian First Vice President: Deepening of cooperation with Armenia is a priority of Iran’s foreign policy
Deepening multilateral cooperation with Armenia is one of the priorities of Iran’s foreign policy, First Vice President of Iran Eshaq Jahangiri was quoted by IRNA news agency as saying at a meeting with Armenian Minister of Transport and Communication Gagik Beglaryan in Tehran.
Eshaq Jahangiri spoke about the development prospects of Armenian-Iranian relations after the lifting of sanctions against Iran. He in particular said: “Even at the time of those sanctions, Armenia and Iran carried out constructive and positive cooperation. The lifting of sanctions and the removal of problems in the banking system opens up ample opportunities for cooperation. We can deepen bilateral commercial ties”.
“Tehran sees no restrictions regarding the deepening of relations with Yerevan,” Eshaq Jahangiri stressed.
According to him, Iranian companies are prepared to participate in various projects in Armenia.
Gagik Beglaryan for his part hailed the lifting of economic sanctions against Iran and said that Armenia attaches special importance to the promotion of relations with Iran.
