A group of lawyers file suit against Merkel to Federal Constitutional Court
A group of lawyers filed a lawsuit against the migration policies of the government of the Federal Republic of Germany the Federal constitutional court in Karlsruhe on Friday, January 22, reports the magazine Der Spiegel. In a statement, six lawyers indicated a violation of "their voting right" and a violation of the right to participate "in the democratic process of decision making", according to news2night.com.
They ask the court to recognize the decision of Angela Merkel from 4 September 2015, opening borders to refugees, as contrary to the Basic law of the FRG. The fact that Merkel did not allow applying the rules of the Dublin agreement, as well as the German laws on asylum and right to stay can also be declared unconstitutional.
"The Chancellor, in pursuing her policy, has no right to go beyond the laws that the voters have dictated to her through the Parliament", — said the author of the claim Clemens Antweiler a lawyer from Düsseldorf.
In his opinion, Merkel can be called a "recidivist" because she didn't adhere to the letter of the German and European laws earlier, for example, during the "energy transition" (the decision to phase out nuclear power. — Ed.) and overcoming the Euro crisis.
