NKR Defense Army repels subversive act of Azerbaijani troops
Yesterday, on January 25, and the night of January 26, Azerbaijani troops resorted to provocative actions on the line of contact between the armed forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan, according to the press service of Defense Ministry of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic.
During that period Azerbaijani frontline units fired about 600 shots at Armenian positions from small arms of various calibers, 60mm and 82mm mortars, and AGS-17 grenade launchers.
Besides, Azerbaijani troops made a subversive reconnaissance infiltration attempt in the southern direction of the line of contact around 4:30 am on January 26.
The frontline units of NKR’s Defense Army promptly foiled an attempt of an Azerbaijani subversive group to advance and forced the enemy to retreat to the initial positions.
Defense Army of the NKR did not suffer losses in the shooting.
“The frontline units of Karabakh Defense Army remain in full control of the frontline situation and continue performing confidently their military duties,” NKR Defense Ministry said in a statement.
