Enemy cannot overpower us as our morale is high, soldier Ara Yeremyan says
Armenian soldier Ara Yeremyan suffered a gunshot wound last August while on duty in a Mataghis military unit when the Azerbaijani side opened gunfire. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan presented the Medal for Combat Service to Yeremyan today.
“The enemy cannot overpower us. True, they are greater in numbers, but they lack high morale we have. They cannot be as strong as we are because they are Turks, and we are Armenians,” the soldier told reporters following the awards ceremony. He declined to give details about his wound, just said that he lost alot of blood and is still receiving treatment to make a full recovery.
Junior Sergeant Hakob Danielyan also came to the presidential residence to receive the Medal for Combat Service. He, too, did not speak about military service, nor did he say why he was awarded the medal.
“Relations are normal. We are very attached to each other. That’s all,” he said. Contract serviceman Danielyan spoke with pride about the army, stressing that we have an efficient army. “No matter how heavily armed the enemy is, we are stronger”.
