Ashkhen Margaryan again celebrates Army Day with frontier guards
This was the fourth year in a row that on January 28 Ms. Ashkhen Margaryan from the town of Yeghegnadzor, Armenia, celebrated Army Day with frontier guards.
The inconveniences of the trip did not deter the woman who is bound to a wheelchair after losing a leg from traveling to the Armenian military unit located at the highest elevation.
Mrs. Ashkhen baked a festive cake on the occasion of Army Day. The treat included 450 pieces of cake and dried fruit. The woman also asked a friend who is a musician to take his guitar and accompany her on the trip.
After learning of Ms. Ashken’ initiative, other people also went to Khachik to provide the soldiers with meat, fruit, and household items.
The woman was reluctant to speak about the difficulties of her trip.
“I vowed to be at our soldiers’ side on this day every year, to bring my parental warmth to them. The soldier should feel them we, citizens, are ok. Each trip gives me a sense of calm,” Mr. Ashkeh told Panorama.am, adding that that she received a certificate of appreciation from the commander of the 4th corps.
“In the evening I returned home tired, but in high spirits. Each time I see them, I feel uplifted,” the woman from Yeghegnadzor shared her emotions.
