Haykakan Zhamanak: Tigran Sargsyan now has plane and state-funded bodyguards
‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ paper writes that the new head of the Collegium of the Eurasian EconomicCommission Tigran Sargsyan was provided with a plane from the Kremlin’s air base. Besides, the ex-Armenian prime minister whose most recent post was the country’s ambassador to the U.S. has state-funded bodyguards. The first visit of T. Sargsyan in his new capacity will be to Belarus.
Chorrord Ishkhanutyun: Spring session of parliament starts with curious incident
The spring session of the Armenian parliament started with a curious incident, ‘Chorrord Ishkhanutyun’ newspaper says. Vice speaker Edward Sharmazanov submitted twice the four-day sittings’ agenda for approval so the same issue was voted on twice by the MPs. A deputy recalled during a conversation with the paper that such an amusing incident also happened previously when Armen Khachatryan put an international agreement to the vote three times.
Hraparak: Ara Abrahamyan to establish All-Armenian Award 2016
‘Hraparak’ says that President of the World Armenian Congress and the Union of Armenians of Russia Ara Abrahamyan has arrived in Armenia. “Everyone expected him to announce the creation of his political party, while Abrahamyan is busy establishing the All-Armenian Award 2016. He will give awards for scientific and creative works,” the paper notes.
