Shirak Center asks governor of Armenia’s Shirak province to help elderly sisters
Two elderly sisters – Tsovik and Rita Martirosyans had long lived in a dilapidated house in Armenia’s Gyumri. The house No 3 on Sarukhanyan Street in Gyumri’s Noravan district looked like a dump, Shirak Center NGO said when applying to Shirak regional governor Felix Tsolakyan for assistance.
“We gave them some assistance recently. We received information today that one of the sisters who has mental health problems again set their house on fire and now the two elderly sisters without any means of livelihood have to live on the street.
We ask you to take urgent measures to put the elderly woman with mental health problems in a mental institution, and help another sister enter a nursing home, at least temporarily,” the NGO said in a statement.
