Astronomer on parade of planets
A parade of five planets – Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn that lasted from January 23 through the end of the first week of February 2016 is coming to an end. The grand parade of the five planets last took place in 2004, Panorama.am learned from Areg Mikaelyan, the co-chairman of Armenian Astronomical Society, leading expert of Byurakan Observatory, Head of Armenian Virtual Observatory.
In his words, starwatchers could enjoy that spectacular sight over the past two days, while now the planets began to move away from each other and become less visible.
We asked A. Mikaelyan if that celestial phenomenon can affect human health.
“The planets have a lesser impact on humans compared to Moon and Sun. Solar flares are more dangerous. I think that in this sense cooperation of biologists, doctors and astronomers would be useful, which is absent in Armenia,” the scientist said adding that people with cardiovascular disease and hypertension are the most affected.
