S. Sargsyan: Armenia anticipates success in talks on comprehensive legal document with EU
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received today President of European Conservatives and Reformists Group of the European Parliament Jan Zahradil, the presidential press service reported.
The interlocutors discussed a number of issues of interest to Armenia-EU cooperation, including inter-parliamentary cooperation, and the European Union’s support for reforms in Armenia.
S. Sargsyan said that Armenia is prepared to promote cooperation with the EU in reform implementation, mobility, good governance, democracy, human rights protection, multisectoral economic cooperation, and other spheres of mutual interest. According to the Armenian president, active cooperation of Armenia and the EU, including high-level visits, bears evidence of progressive development of relations. Speaking about the talks on a new comprehensive legal document between Armenia and the EU that were launched in Brussels in late 2015, S. Sargsyan said that Armenia anticipates success in this important process.
At the guest’s request, Serzh Sargsyan spoke about Armenia’s domestic and foreign policy, his viewpoint concerning a number of international problems and regional challenges, and the latest developments in the Karabakh conflict settlement process.
Jan Zahradil presented the path traversed by their party and its priorities. He said that the political force he represents is interested in developing cooperation with Armenia in both interparty and Armenia-EU formats.
