Number of Armenian outbound travelers increases
The number of outbound travelers from Armenia’s Zvartnots Airport in January 2016 exceeded the number of inbound travelers. 137, 303 passengers traveled through Zvartnots International Airport in January 2016 compared to 131,916 in the same month of 2015, according to Armenia’s General Department of Civil Aviation (GDCA).
65,745 passengers arrived in Armenia in January 2016 compared to 63,546 in January last year. 71,558 departed from Armenia in January, which was by 3,188 passengers more than in the same period of 2015.
708 tons of cargo was transported via Zvartnots in January 2016, compared to 428 tons in January 2015. In particular, 470 tons of cargo was exported in January 2016 (239 in 2015) and 238 tons (189 tons in 2015) was imported.
The number of take-offs and landings at the airport was 680 against 727 in 2015.
879 passengers arrived in Gyumri’s Shirak airport in January 2016 (676 in 2015), 1,390 (982 in 2015) departed.
