Iran prepared to increase fivefold gas exports to Armenia
Executive Director of Iran’s National Iranian Gas Export Company Alireza Kameli said today that gas exports from Iran to Armenia could increase from 1 million cubic meters up to 5 million cubic meters after the construction of Armenia-Iran 3rd power transmission line is completed, Iran’s Mehr news agency reported.
The company’s executive director said: “It is envisaged constructing power transmission lines in the second stage of the Iran-Armenia agreement on gas and electricity. It is planned that in the next two years the construction of Iran-Armenia 3rd kV power transmission line will be completed, after which it will become possible to increase Iranian gas exports to Armenia”.
It should be noted that the agreement signed between the two countries will enable to increase Iranian gas exports to Armenia up to 5 million cubic meters daily.
