Karabakh observes all international norms related to Sarsang reservoir: Seyran Ohanyan
Political forces of Armenia have done work aimed at preventing the adoption of anti-Armenian resolutions in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan told reporters today.
“Had those documents been unbiased and not reflecting the opinion of Azerbaijani political forces, they would have made concessions in Nagorno Karabakh’s initiative related to the same Sarsang reservoir: there are pumping stations and water pipes that can be repaired and used jointly, but they refused,” the minister said noting that as regards Sarsang reservoir, Karabakh authorities do everything possible, while observing all the international norms.
As was reported, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on January 26 voted on two reports: “Inhabitants of frontier regions of Azerbaijan are deliberately deprived of water” – a scandalous report prepared by Milica Markovic, MP from Bosnia and Herzegovina - was adopted by 98 votes to 71, with 40 abstentions. Another controversial report that drew a wide response - “Escalation of violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and the other occupied territories of Azerbaijan” prepared by British MP Robert Walter who holds Turkish citizenship was rejected in a 66-77 vote.
