James Appathurai: NATO concerned over tensions on line of contact of troops in Karabakh conflict zone
NATO supports the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group in settling Karabakh conflict, James Appathurai, the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, said in Baku, according to local Trend news agency.
He said NATO is concerned over the tensions on the line of contact of the troops.
“We call on the sides of the conflict to take up steps towards a peaceful settlement. The two member states of NATO are also members of the OSCE Minsk Group. The official position of the organisation is the support of the OSCE Minsk Group and the peaceful resolution of the conflict,” Appathurai said.
