Registration and Provision of Drugs will be Toughened by Law: Minister of Health
The Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia Armen Muradyan today during a meeting with the reporters expressed his hope that this year a bill “On Medicines” will be passed in the second reading. This bill covers the whole chain of application from creating drugs to its provision by patients and all beneficiaries.
“I believe that all the answers to the issues regarding drugs will be comprehensively covered by the new law,” the Minister said.
As for the possibility of being prosecuted for distributing counterfeit drugs, Armen Muradyan mentioned that such approach to this question is witnessed in many countries, so it will be discussed in Armenia as well.
“There are various administrative levers to deal with the above mentioned matter but they have never been implied yet in our country. The new law toughens registration, provision and prescription of drugs. All these factors must have serious administrative control within the chain and I think that the majority of problems will be possible to solve in the framework of the new law,” Armen Muradyan noticed.
