Inventory is Being Held in Nairit Plant
Yesterday former employees of Nairit Plant met with Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Levon Shahverdyan. While being interviewed by panorama.am one of the former employees of the Nairit Plant Anahit Manukyan said that the day before they had gathered outside the National Assembly, but had failed to meet any of the MPs. After waiting there for a while the people decided to go to straight to the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.
“Mr. Shahverdyan said that inventory should be held in the factory and only those things will be sold which will not interfere with the regular functioning of Nairit Plant. There are a lot of companies which have filed for bankruptcy of Nairit Plant, because of enormous amount of dept the factory has. I’m not aware of that for hundred per cent, I just express my opinion on the issue, as we were not informed about the reasons behind the inventory,” A. Manukyan said.
According to a former employee of Nairit Plant, there are rumors that three different Russian companies are interested in Nairit Plant, “The Minister himself once said about that. Last week we met Mr. Shahverdyan and he confirmed that. Again they were looking forward to meeting with the Russian side on February 15. The meeting took place and some additional documents were needed. The Deputy Minister yesterday announced that all the needed documents were handed to the Russian side and now they wait for their answer”.
It should be noted that nairit people who have been carrying out protests for a long time demanding payment of salary debts and actually succeeded, started a new one. This time they demand restarting the plant.
