“There are internal issues and disagreements within the party,” says Vahan Babayan from Prosperous Armenia party in the National Assembly, who yesterday discharged himself from the duties of party spokesperson.

During a briefing with the journalists after the Ombudsman’s elections in the parliament, Babayan however didn’t clarify what sort of disagreements he had within the party.

“I’m not used to making internal conversations public. That’s ugly and politically inappropriate,” explained Babayan.

Babayan also didn’t clarify whether the disagreements were about forming a coalition with the Republican party or not.

“I would refrain from analyzing the situation as a political scientist, because we are politicians and you can read everything by our speeches and behaviour”, - he said. 

Asked whether he was in favor or against forming a coalition with the Republican party, Babayan answered: “I was for it”.
