Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan about VAT for EEC imported cars
During the Cabinet meeting Prime Minister of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan proposed to introduce an additional agenda item about eliminating VATs for cars imported from EEC countries.
PM Abrahamyan said that the problem of VAT for EEC imported cars has become a subject for public discussions during this month.
“The problem isn’t new for the EEC. Kazakhstan also had such transitional provisions. The problem also isn’t new in terms of inclusion in our economic policy agenda. During the last year the Government of Armenia held constant and active discussions with its EEC partners on eliminating imperfect VAT mechanisms that are limiting trade. After discussing the issue with the President we’ve decided to revise the legislation regulating the sector,” Abrahamyan concluded.
