Cases of AIDS, HIV decrease in Armenia, cases of viral hepatitis increase
Upper respiratory infections were the most common of infectious diseases in Armenia in 2015. According to the National Statistics Service of Armenia (NSS) 124 088 cases were recorded in December-January, while in 2014 the number was 128 200. The majority of these cases were recorded among children aged 0-14 years.
As for the acute intestinal diseases, the number of cases increased. 12 268 cases were recorded, while in 2014 the number of recorded acute intestinal diseases was 9452.
Cases of viral hepatitis also increased over the last year reaching a total of 250, while in 2014 the number was 201.
According to the NSS, cases of AIDS and HIV decreased in 2015. The recorded number of AIDS cases in 2015 was 161, while in 2014 it was 180. The number of HIV cases decreased in 56, the recorded number in 2014 being 294.
