Reformists win all 30 Tehran seats in Iran elections
Reformists supporting Iranian President Hassan Rouhani have won a landslide victory in Tehran, in the parliamentary vote, held on February 26, BBC reports.
Iran's Election Headquarters on Monday announced the latest results of the vote count in Tehran constituency. According to it, the pro-Rouhani List of Hope is set to take all 30 parliamentary seats in the capital after 90% of the votes are counted.
The leading conservative candidate Gholamali Haddad-Adel is in 31st place.
As many as 4,844 candidates were competing for a place in the 290-seat Parliament. A total of 159 others were running for the 88-member Assembly of Experts.
The main political forces competing to gain control of the parliament are moderate reformists who support President Hassan Rouhani and the conservatives.
