Iskandaryan: EU faces many problems
“The European Union is in a crisis today. Many problems exist, among them relations with neighboring states,” Head of “The Caucasus Institute”, Alexander Iskandaryan said at a meeting with reporters.
According to the speaker, the EU should adopt a differentiated approach to each of the Eastern Partnership member state, work in a way adapted to each of them, understand what is deemed to do and how.
“States differ each of them with own problems,” Iskandaryan noted adding that the visit by the EU High Representative is conditioned with this fact.
As reported earlier, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini will visit Armenia on March 1 at the invitation of Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian. Mogherini is set to meet with President Serzh Sargsyan and Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan. Later a joint press conference is expected between Nalbandyan and Mogherini.
Iskandaryan told the region lives through an interesting period: “The European Union works in the region and the visit to Armenia by the High Representative is an opportunity to continue that work.”
