Zhoghovurd: Ara Abrahamyan’s initiative of setting up a political party collapses
According to information, obtained by “Zhoghovurd” newspaper, the acting President of the Union of Armenians in Russia Ara Abrahamyan’s initiative of setting up a political party is close to breaking down. Reports claim, Abrahamyan has no intention to take care of all the funds needed for setting up a party by himself in light of the possible failure of the newly formed political force in the 2017 Parliamentary Election. Thus, Abrahamyan has been trying to draw investors into his initiative, even from the United States. Aram Sargsyan, Head of the Democratic Party of Armenia, who also serves as Deputy President of the Union of Armenians in Russia, has declined to comment on the report. “Only he (Abrahamyan) deals with such issues. I have nothing to do with that,” Sargsyan has told the newspaper.
Haykakan Zhamanak: Armenia will produce own weapons
“We should not wait for Russia or other state to supply us with weapons. We should produce them by ourselves. The right direction is to set military manufacturing enterprises,” academician Yuri Suvaryan has told at a meeting of scientists with Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan, held at the National Academy of Sciences on March 1.
Suvaryan has agreed with the paper’s remark that the state has decided to utilize the scientific potential in developing of own military manufacturing. “Heads of Several institutions expressed readiness to serve for strengthening the army and suggested to be involved in the activities towards that goal. As far as I am informed, some institutions are implementing working outs, others are currently put into practices,” Suvaryan told the newspaper, adding there is no need to voice up such initiatives in the view of Armenia's “no war, no peace” situation.

The newly appointed Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Levon Yolyan has announced that ‘‘At this moment he has no business in practice». Reflecting upon the minister's comment, ''Chorrord Ishkhanutyun'' writes: '' The phrase ''in practice'' seems quite notable. One can assume he might have business in theory, but not in practice. The minister is right with this regard. Ultimately, he has not explored the ministry yet, its financial flows and ’’ the existing potential.” Thus, how could he say whether he possesses any business?''
“Zhamanak”: New circumstances to come up on October 27 Case
Former member to the Parliamentary inquiry into March 1 events, former Deputy Defence Minister Andranik Kocharyan has told “Zhamanak” newspaper no new circumstances appeared about the March 1 events, but new ones came up with respect to the October 27 case. According to him, the British final report about former Russian FSB secret service officer Alexander Litvinenko’s death spreads new light over the October 27 case.
