Carpet production decreased by 94.4% in Armenia
Carpet production decreased by 94.4% in 2016 compared to the results of the previous year. The National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia (NSS) informs that in January, 2015, 1.8 tons of carpets and carpet coverings have been produced in the republic, for the mentioned period of this year the number is 0.1 tons.
As to knitwear production, in January 2016, 113k units have been manufactured in Armenia compared to 354K units or January, 2015. Thus, knitwear production decreased by 68.1%. According to NSS, for the indicated period only hosiery production increased by 91.6%. 283.1k pairs have been produced in January, 2015, compared to 542.5k pairs manufactured in January, 2016.
