EU and Turkey reach an agreement on refugee crisis
Turkey and the European Union have reached agreement on key points of a proposal to handle the overflow of refugees during a summit meeting in Brussels, according to Russia Today.
It was mentioned that Turkey will receive additional 3 billion euros from EU to manage migration flows and receiving illegal immigrants entering EU territory. In exchange of taking back illegal migrants, Turkey will send to Europe those Syrian migrants who will officially receive refugee status.
President of Europe Council Donald Tusk announced that from now on the Balkan route will not be available for migrants.
German Chancellor Merkel also welcomed the agreement achieved, yet at the same time emphasized that the question of Turkey's membership in the EU wasn't included in the agenda.
As it was reported, Merkel also said that the visa facilitation with Turkey would be an issue for consideration until the EU summit meeting in summer.
