Kurdish Women protest against violence in the Middle East
“No to Women’s Genocide”, “A nation is not free until women are free”, “Women, Life, Freedom” were the signs at the demonstration of the Kurdish Community women in Shahumyan square of Yerevan, as they held a protest over the violence against the Kurdish women in the Near and Middle East.
“The crime against the Kurdish women and the Kurds in general is in full process. We condemn that crime. Today we witness Genocide against the Kurdish population, the one that happened to the Armenians over 100 years ago, ” Head of Armenia’s Kurdish Community Knyaz Hasanov told the reporters.
Hasanov stated that the Kurdish people have been butchered for about 6-7 months in Turkey, women been raped and thrown out to streets in a sign of frightening others not to participate at demonstrations.
Another participant of the protest, the head of the “Kurdistan” Committee Zhenya Amiryan said it has been several years since the Kurdish women mark March 8 in protests to condemn the Turkish President’s policy on the Kurds.
“Turkish barbarians and the leaders turned to be a misfortune for the whole world,” Amiryan said.
