“We’re going to offer such prices that Armenian citizens will be pleased with. The ticket prices will not be very high and Armenians will get the chance to travel to any country they wish,” said Armenia airline shareholder Tamaz Gaiashvili during a press conference.

He mentioned that regular flights would be conducted to Russia, Tehran, Dubai, Tel Aviv, Kiev, Minsk, Prague, Barcelona, Larnaca and London.

“Our map will expand over time,” added Gaiashvili.

The first regular flights will begin on April 21 to Tel Aviv and Moscow. In the beginning of April, the company will have two planes then their number will increase.

Gaiashvili also mentioned that the lowest one-way ticket price would be 49 Euros (not including air tax and airport service price) for a non-refundable ticket purchased two months in advance. The final price (including air tax and airport service) will be 96 Euros that can change considering the exchange rate and the changes in airport service prices.

Another shareholder of the company Robert Hovhannisyan said that the pilots and technical personnel would be Armenian citizens. They also expect that Armenian pilots living abroad will return to work in Armenia.

Gaiashvili ensured that no government official including the Prime Minister of Armenia were engaged in the creation of the company.

“All that is just rumour, which are not in the interests of Armenia. Geographically we live in a complicated region. Aviation is very important to Armenia. The Government should help and is helping to create and raise new companies,” he said.
