Expert: Armenians living in Turkey are twice as scared
Turkey’s government will use the terrorist attacks in Ankara in their fight against the Kurds, said Expert on Turkey Tiran Lokmagyozyan during a press conference. He then added that the last two attacks Turkey blamed on the Kurdish, yet later it was revealed that a completely different organization was standing behind it.
Speaking about the Armenians living in Turkey, the expert said that in cases of terrorist attacks they are twice as scared.
“If anything happens in Turkey, the minorities are first targeted, especially the Armenians. We’ve again witnessed it recently, when the Turkish state was fighting against the Kurdish with the help of the police, more Armenian names were being mentioned than Kurdish, as if they were fighting against the Armenians, or when the police or military officers were entering Kurdish cities, through loudspeakers they were calling them Armenians to insult them. They were claiming that Kurdistan Workers' Party was in fact an Armenian organization, led by Armenians, to weaken them,” said Tiran Lokmagyozyan.
As reported earlier, at least 37 people were killed and some 125 civilians wounded in a blast in the centre of Ankara on Sunday. The car bomb blasted at a bus stop near one of Ankara’s central squares. Turkish Premier said they had information about terrorist group behind the attack.
