Another desperate Azerbaijani citizen ready to move to Nagorno Karabakh Republic with family
Tired of the authorities’ arbitrariness, an Azerbaijani bus driver expressed a wish to move to Nagorno Karabakh Republic (NKR) with his family, according to Azerbaijani Meydan TV.
According to the report, JeyhunAliyev, an Azerbaijani citizen, has been working as a driver at a bus station in the city Mingachevir for over seven years. He has always properly paid the government fees, and made contributions to the social security fund. A few years ago, he was made to obtain a licence; however, even with the official permission, he is not allowed to work on his route, Aliyev said.
JeyhunAliyev told Meydan TV that the work inZaqatala-Qakhline, where he had worked irreproachablyfor seven years, was taken away from him. Now the line belongs to the Chief Executive of Zaqatal District, Mubariz Ahmadzadeh.
Aliyev added that he has three childrenand that his motherhas level 2 disability. He said he is ashamed to go home.
“MubarizAhmadzadeh, the Chief Executive of Zaqatal District, has laid eyes onthe route of the poor and orphans. WhatshouldIdo? Killmyself?Leave everything behind and flee to some other country?”Aliyev complains.
He said he had sent several telegrams to the authorities, who said they would investigate his case. However, no entity has ever addressed his problem. The manager of the bus station said he could be of no help to him. Nevertheless, they have made many calls to the Shaki regional department from the bus station with the request to allow Aliyev to work again.
“Everyone told me I would not have the power because the Chief Executive of Zaqatal District stands behind this case. Iam bringinguptwosons. Intwoyears, theeldermustgoto thearmy.

Notably, there have been a number of reports about Azerbaijani civilians crossing or attempting to cross the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and surrender to Armenia or the NKR.
On 27 February, about 25 residents of the village Ketuklu of Gabala district inhabited mainly with Lezgians tried to pass to the territory of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic in the direction of Aghdam with white flags in their hands. However, the police soon encircled and detained the runaways. One of the members of the group reportedly said the cause of the villagers’ protest was the unfair behaviour of the Nabiyev family, who hold key posts in the region.
On 23 January 2014, dozens of residents of Beylagan region, Azerbaijan, in protest against the demolition of their houses by the chief executive body tried to pass to the territory of Nagorno Karabakh Republic. On 29 January 2014, an Azerbaijani citizen JavidOrujov, resident of Baku born in 1976, appealed to the Armenian border guards on the Armenian-Georgian border, asking for a political asylum for him, his wife and their three young children. On 12 April 2014, NazimMammadov, a resident of Nakhijevan Autonomous Republic, was detained by the Azerbaijani military while attempting to cross the border with Armenia with a white flag in his hands. Earlier, in 2010, NarimanAgayev, from Goychay district, threatened to seek for asylum in Armenia because the investigator handed his daughter’s corpse to him only after getting a bribe of 1000 USD.
