Armenia ranked 121st in the World Happiness report
African state Burundi was recognized as the most unhappy state of the world, while Denmark is the happiest state, the data of the World Happiness Report Update 2016 show which was compiled at the order of the United Nations.
Armenian is ranked 121st in report followed by Kenya and Ukraine, while Egypt, Myanmar and Idea are ahead of our state.
Denmark continues to hold the top rank followed by Switzerland, Norway, Finland and Canada.
The report employed six variables for the evaluation - GDP per capita, healthy life expectancy, social support, freedom, generosity and absence of corruption among them.
The authors state that the level of happiness not necessarily correspond to the level of well-being, rather a combination of a number of factors – social, economic, environmental ones impacts significantly on the citizens’ perception of happiness. People are said to be happier in states where the social inequality is more clearly seen.
To remind, the UN declared March 20 as the International Day of Happiness, which has been marked since 2020.
