I enjoy Armenian cuisine much, French Ambassador says
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to the Republic of Armenia Jean-Francois Charpentier, who is in the first year of his tenure, says he enjoys much Armenian cuisine and its traditional dishes. Asked what dish he would mention most among the local food, the Ambassador said the Armenian spas (an Armenian soup made from matzoon, hulled wheat and herbs).
''I really enjoy Armenian cuisine, I like many dishes although most often I mention the Spas,'' Ambassador Charpentier told the reporters at a press conference.
Ambassador Charpentier added he is font of grilling technique of the meat on a brazier, noting that he plans to visit different settlements throughout Armenia to try traditional Armenian food and dishes made by grandmothers.
Swiss cook Rolf Graber who works in a restaurant at Marriott Armenia was also present at the meeting. He shared his views by saying that Armenian cuisine is known for its secrets of cooking which should be communicated to the world. In particular, he mentioned the skin, which, as confessed, was a discovery for him.
