More tourists expected in Armenia during Nowruz
It is anticipated that this year more tourists will arrive in Armenia to celebrate Nowruz, Iranian New Year, said Tatev tour agency executive Arlen Davudyan during a press conference adding that according to his estimations, 10,000 Iranians will arrive in Armenia.
According to him, during the coming 12-13 days about 60 flights will be conducted from different Iranian cities to Armenia.
As far as it concerns cultural events, Davudyan said that various singers who are not able to perform in Iran will have concerts in Armenia.
Davudyan then talked about hotel business, saying that this year even five-star hotel prices are quite affordable which will attract more tourists than during the previous years.
“There are people on holiday and those interested in Armenian culture. In fact, there is a lot more to Armenia that we can show, yet we fix solely on churches,” said Davudyan, adding that Ministry of Economy of Armenia should take this issue seriously and develop a certain policy to attract tourists.
